A New Home for Our Seniors: Father Solanus Hall

The current senior dorm, Saint Francis Hall, has served the seminary since 1917. During these many years of service, relatively few updates were done. The antiquated mechanical system, lack of ADA accessibility and fire suppression systems has warranted the building of a whole new dorm. Father Solanus Hall will provide a space for studies, recreation, and relaxation. The building will be similar to residence halls found at universities, with expanded apartments for friars or lay staff as their advisors. The lower entry level will house the common spaces, while the upper two levels will house the seminarians and their supervisors’ living quarters.

Space to Grow

  • Ten “Quads” each housing four seminarians.
  • Three floors providing 10,000 square feet of living space
  • Beautiful entrance and welcoming lobby
  • Elevator to comply with ADA codes
  • Apartments for two dorm supervisors plus guest rooms
  • Class recreation lounge and gathering spaces
  • Conference Room for Class activities and meetings
  • Donor Recognition Wall around Father Solanus Statue

Remembering Solanus

Upon entering Father Solanus Hall, the seminarians will be welcomed by a statue of Blessed Solanus Casey, OFM Cap. For information on additional ways of supporting this project or for information on honoring or memorializing, please contact us at 888-526-8100.
