Message from the Rector

The Spirit of Calvary is alive and strong!

Since 1860, thousands of young men have come to Saint Lawrence Seminary to gain knowledge, grow in holiness, and discern the will of God in their lives. And through those years, Saint Lawrence Seminary molded these boys into young men of faith, service, and most importantly, to be firmly grounded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Today, Saint Lawrence Seminary is a thriving minor seminary  with students from across the United States and around the world. These Sons of Calvary, with the guidance and support of Capuchin friars and lay staff, are discerning God’s call in their lives, whether as priests, religious, or lay persons.  They are also building a brotherhood that endures. We call it, “the Calvary Spirit.”  I am pleased to report  that same spirit is very much alive and continues to be a wellspring of hope for the future of our Church.

As you explore our website, you will discover that we are fully committed to the future of Saint Lawrence Seminary and are ensuring that the Calvary Spirit continues to burn brightly in the hearts and minds of a new generations of young men as they prepare for lives of servant leadership in our Church and world. With your continued generosity and support, the future of Saint Lawrence Seminary will be one of endless possibilities.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the unique past, vibrant present, and promising future of Saint Lawrence Seminary.

May the Lord bless and keep you!

Fr. Zoy Garibay, OFM Cap.
